Steaming Hot Cooked Instant Noodles
深夜食堂-热气腾腾的煮泡面 · pan chinese cuisine
I always used to eat instant noodles the quick way, left slightly firm from just-soaking. One day I tried boiling them on the stove instead, and after unlocking cooked instant noodles I was hooked. On a hungry night, nothing is more soothing than a steaming hot bowl of cooked instant noodles.

Steps

Cut the sausage into chunks. Add a tiny bit of oil to a pot and pan-fry the sausage pieces.
✅ Done when: The sausage chunks are lightly browned and fragrant from the quick fry.

Add a bowl of water (use the amount you normally like for instant noodles). Once it boils, add the noodle cake, the vegetable packet, and the powdered and sauce packets. Cover and simmer over low heat for 3 to 5 minutes. Add vegetables to your liking: if using leafy greens like lettuce, toss them in for the final minute just to blanch; this time I used snow peas, so I cooked them from the start.
✅ Done when: The noodles are fully softened and springy after 3 to 5 minutes of covered simmering, and the vegetables are cooked through.

Just before turning off the heat, pour in one beaten egg and give it a couple of stirs with chopsticks. Then it is ready to eat.
✅ Done when: The egg is cooked into soft ribbons throughout the broth after a quick stir.
