Garlic Blanched Bok Choy

A simple, healthy, and vibrant side dish. This blanched bok choy is crisp-tender and finished with a savory garlic-infused soy dressing.

Ingredients

  • 500g Bok Choy (Shanghai Green)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • Optional: Sliced red chili for garnish

Instructions

  1. Wash bok choy thoroughly and cut in half lengthwise if large.
  2. Bring a large pot of water to boil with a pinch of salt and a drop of oil (to keep it green).
  3. Blanch bok choy for 1-2 minutes until vibrant green but still crunchy. Drain and arrange on a plate.
  4. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar.
  5. Heat sesame oil in a small pan, sauté minced garlic until fragrant and golden.
  6. Pour the soy mixture over the bok choy, then drizzle with the hot garlic oil. Garnish with chili if desired.
