A simple, healthy, and vibrant side dish. This blanched bok choy is crisp-tender and finished with a savory garlic-infused soy dressing.
Ingredients
- 500g Bok Choy (Shanghai Green)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- Optional: Sliced red chili for garnish
Instructions
- Wash bok choy thoroughly and cut in half lengthwise if large.
- Bring a large pot of water to boil with a pinch of salt and a drop of oil (to keep it green).
- Blanch bok choy for 1-2 minutes until vibrant green but still crunchy. Drain and arrange on a plate.
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar.
- Heat sesame oil in a small pan, sauté minced garlic until fragrant and golden.
- Pour the soy mixture over the bok choy, then drizzle with the hot garlic oil. Garnish with chili if desired.
