Cola Chicken Wings
Ingredients
- 8 chicken wings
- 1 dark soy sauce
- 1 light soy sauce
- 1 oyster sauce
- as needed cola
- as needed scallion, ginger, garlic
- as needed cooking wine
Instructions
- Make cuts on the chicken wings so they absorb flavor more easily.
- Blanch the wings first to remove any fishy smell and blood foam.
- Add cooking wine to further remove any gaminess.
- Give the wings a quick rinse in the blanching water.
- Remove the wings from the pot and set aside.
- Use less oil if you prefer a lighter dish.
- Pan-sear all the chicken wings.
- Sear until lightly golden — this brings out more aroma.
- Add 1 tablespoon of light soy sauce.
- Add 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce.
- Add dark soy sauce for color.
- Add garlic and ginger to taste — they help remove any residual gaminess.
- Pour in cola — adjust the amount to your personal preference.
- Cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Done — look at that beautiful color!
- Sprinkle some sesame seeds for garnish and extra aroma.
- Serve with steamed rice — perfect!
