Prepare all ingredients first. Use any vegetables you like and as many eggs as you prefer. This recipe serves 2.

Fry the eggs in a bit of oil until the whites are set but yolks remain runny.

Once the eggs are fried, add chili peppers if you like spicy food – skip if not.

Break the fried eggs into chunks with a spatula. Pour in boiling water, add 1 tsp salt, and boil for 2-3 minutes.

Add rice cakes and any vegetables that take longer to cook. Simmer together briefly.

When the rice cakes are 90% cooked, add sliced meat (pork, chicken, or beef). Let cook through.

Finally add leafy greens. Bring to a boil and turn off the heat immediately. Season with MSG to taste if using.

A warm and comforting bowl of soup rice cakes!
