A delicious Spicy Crucian Carp recipe.

Clean the crucian carp: remove guts, scale, and rinse thoroughly. Rub with salt and let sun-dry for 2-3 days. Store in the fridge for longer preservation.


Pour plenty of oil into a pan and deep-fry the fish until golden and crispy, about 5 minutes per side.


In the same pan with the leftover oil, stir-fry the chopped chili, ginger, and garlic until fragrant. Add chicken bouillon powder and steamed fish soy sauce.



Once the sauce has reduced, sprinkle with chopped scallions. For extra aroma, add perilla leaves (shiso) if available.
