A delicious Braised Beef with Soy Eggs recipe.
Soak the beef in cold water to draw out blood (about 1 hour). After soaking, blanch the beef in a pot of cold water, bringing it to a boil. Meanwhile, heat a separate pot of water.
Place the beef and all seasonings into a rice cooker, add hot water until it just covers the beef (keep below the 5-cup / ~1L mark). Cook for 90 minutes, then switch to keep-warm mode.
Once the beef is done, boil the eggs in hot water for 10 minutes. Transfer to cold water, peel, and place into the rice cooker to soak in the braising liquid. (Note: the rice cooker pot fits at most 5 eggs at a time.)
