Bring the mixed sauce and water to a boil. Once boiling, add sliced onion and grated ginger. Simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes, letting the onion fully absorb the sauce until it becomes noticeably soft and translucent.
Add the beef slices and cook over medium-low heat just until done. Skim off any foam. Do not overcook or the beef will become tough. For more flavor, let the cooked beef soak in the broth for a few minutes after turning off the heat.
