I had some extra tender beef at home recently, so I made this delicious pepper-and-bean beef rice with it – it’s absolutely fantastic, and you really should give it a try! A delicious Black Pepper Potato & Beef Rice Bowl recipe.
| Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|
| beef slices (hot pot) | 150g |
| potato | 1 as needed |
| cooked rice | 1 bowl |
| onion | ½ |
| light soy sauce | 1 tbsp |
| oyster sauce | 1 tbsp |
| black pepper | ½ tsp |
| dark soy sauce | ½ tbsp |
| salt and chicken bouillon | to taste |
| cooking wine | 1 tbsp |

Peel and dice the onion and potato. Briefly blanch the beef slices in boiling water to remove any scum, then drain and set aside. Cook rice in a rice cooker ahead of time.

Mix the sauce: in a small bowl, combine light soy sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper, dark soy sauce, cooking wine, and a pinch of salt. Stir well and set aside. Heat oil in a pan, add the diced potato and cook until slightly soft, then add the onion and stir-fry until fragrant. Pour in enough water to cover the potato and onion, bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to medium-low and simmer for about 10 minutes until the potato is tender. Add the blanched beef slices and the prepared sauce, stir-fry everything together, then increase the heat to reduce the sauce until thickened.

Serve the beef and potato mixture over a bowl of hot rice, mix well, and enjoy! So delicious — you’ll want to lick the bowl clean.
