Air Fryer Bread Rolls
Ingredients
- 120 Bread flour
- 1 Instant yeast (high sugar tolerant)
- 15 Sugar
- 1 Whole egg
- 60 Milk
- 10 Butter
- to taste White sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and milk. Add 20g of beaten egg and mix until it forms shaggy clumps. Tip: One egg yields about 60g of beaten egg; save the remaining egg for brushing the bread later.
- Knead the dough until smooth, then add softened butter and continue kneading. Use the slap-and-fold technique to develop gluten until you can stretch a windowpane (glove membrane). Let rise in a warm place until doubled and springs back when pressed.
- Punch down the risen dough to release air, then roll it out into a rough rectangle and cut into triangles.
- Roll up each triangle from the wide end to form crescent shapes. Place in the air fryer basket and let proof for another 20-30 minutes. After the second rise, brush with the reserved egg wash and sprinkle with white sesame seeds (black sesame works too).
- Air fry at 150°C (300°F) for 18-20 minutes. Note: Different air fryer models vary in temperature and timing, so adjust accordingly. Flip halfway through to prevent one side from drying out too much.
- Tear and enjoy! Simple to make, soft, fluffy, and deliciously sweet.
