A delicious Calorie-Conscious Soft & Chewy Oat Mochi with Fillings recipe.

Breakfast pairing: filled mochi + nuts + boiled egg + fruit — a satisfying way to fuel your holiday!

Prepare the ingredients: instant unsweetened oats, kale powder or matcha powder, powdered sugar or honey, whole milk, plain cream cheese, unsweetened black sesame paste, low-sugar black sesame soup mix.

Mix the black sesame soup mix with the black sesame paste and a splash of milk until evenly combined.

Start shaping — two methods: (1) Place plastic wrap on a surface, roll the oat mixture flat with a thicker center and thinner edges; (2) Line an egg tart foil cup with plastic wrap, spread the mixture with a spoon to the edges, then add the cream cheese and black sesame filling. Method 1 makes a larger, more filling mochi; Method 2 yields cute, chubby mini ones.

Unmold and dust with powder — choose your flavor: white options like powdered sugar or desiccated coconut; dark options like cocoa powder or instant coffee powder; green options like matcha powder or kale powder. Any combination tastes great and looks beautiful!

Wrap tightly in plastic wrap. You can refrigerate or store at room temperature away from light, but try to finish within a day since there are no preservatives.
