| Ingredient | Amount |
|---|---|
| beef | 250g |
| oyster sauce | 1-2 tablespoons |
| salt | a pinch |
| cooking oil | a drizzle |
| ginger (julienned) | a pinch |

Mince the beef finely, or use a meat grinder to process it into a paste.

Add oyster sauce, salt, and julienned ginger to the minced beef. Mix well, then drizzle in oil and stir to combine. Set aside. When the rice is almost done cooking and only a little water remains (about 20 minutes before the end of a 40-minute cook cycle), spread the beef mixture on top of the rice in the rice cooker. The beef will cook through as the rice finishes. Season generously with salt so the whole pot turns out perfectly seasoned. Timing may vary by rice cooker โ the key is to add the beef when most of the water has been absorbed.

I added the beef a bit late this time because I chose the wrong cooking mode and the rice was already done with 20 minutes left! Luckily we weren’t eating right away, so everything steamed through perfectly in the end.

Stir everything together well before serving.
