No Oven Needed! Pan-Fried Pork Jerky in 3 Irresistible Flavors
Ingredients
- 3 Pork (lean)
- 5 Sweet potato starch
- 30 Orleans seasoning powder
- 2 Red yeast rice powder
- Honey
- White sesame seeds
Instructions
- Prepare 3 jin of lean pork — front leg or loin both work. Make sure to remove all sinew and membrane completely, then cut into chunks. (Freeze the meat for an hour before putting it in the meat grinder.)
- Honey-glazed flavor: 1 jin pork leg + 25g sugar + 25g honey + 5g light soy sauce + 15g oyster sauce + 5g dark soy sauce + 2g salt + 2g white pepper + 5g sweet potato starch + 2g red yeast rice powder.
- Braised flavor: 1 jin pork leg + 2 packets of braised beef noodle seasoning + 5g sweet potato starch + 2g red yeast rice powder.
- Orleans flavor: 1 jin pork leg + 5g light soy sauce + 30g Orleans seasoning powder + 2g salt + 2g white pepper + 5g sweet potato starch + 2g red yeast rice powder.
- Grind the meat into a paste using a meat grinder — it should have a bouncy, sticky consistency that doesn't fall out when the bowl is turned upside down.
- Place the meat paste on parchment paper, cover with another sheet of parchment, and roll it out thin with a rolling pin — about the same thickness as store-bought pork jerky.
- Pan-fry in a non-stick skillet without oil over the lowest heat. Once set, flip and peel off the parchment paper.
- Brush both sides with honey water and sprinkle with white sesame seeds. Pan-fry for another 10–15 seconds and they're ready!
