Spicy Cumin Beef

Ingredients

  • 300g beef
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • 3 tbsp dried chili peppers
  • to taste ginger and garlic
  • 3 stalks cilantro

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef, season with salt and light soy sauce, toss well. Drizzle in a little cooking oil and toss again to lock in moisture. Marinate for 15 minutes. Heat plenty of oil and deep-fry the beef until about 80% cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  2. Leave a little oil in the wok, sauté ginger and garlic until fragrant. Add 1 tbsp of minced dried chili, turn heat to low, then add 1 tbsp light soy sauce, oyster sauce, cumin powder, and salt. Stir-fry until well combined.
  3. Toss in some bird's eye chilies, splash a little rice vinegar along the edge of the wok. Add the fried beef back in and stir-fry for about 20 seconds. Finish with a pinch of chicken bouillon and toss well.
  4. If you love cilantro, use plenty as a bed for the beef.
