Cut beef into small cubes. Add 1 tbsp cooking wine, 2 tbsp light soy sauce, 1 tbsp cornstarch, 1 tbsp oil, 1 tsp black pepper, and sugar. Mix well and marinate for 30 minutes.

Heat oil in a pan. Add garlic cloves and fry until golden. Remove. Add marinated beef and stir-fry until both sides are lightly browned. Remove.

Add butter to the pan and melt. Return garlic and beef, add 1 tbsp oyster sauce and black pepper. Stir-fry briefly and serve.
