Five-Minute Tender Tofu

  • optional chopped scallions
  • a little minced garlic
  • peanut oil
  • sesame oil
  • light soy sauce
  • dark soy sauce
  • oyster sauce
  • cornstarch
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Mix the sauce: 2 spoons light soy sauce, 1 spoon each of oyster sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil, 1/3 spoon each of dark soy sauce and salt, and half a bowl of water. Stir well and set aside.
  2. Cut the tofu into small cubes and blanch for 30 seconds.
  3. Rinse with cold water, then drain slightly.
  4. Heat oil over medium-high heat and add the minced garlic. Stir-fry until fragrant.
  5. Turn to low heat, add the tofu cubes, and pan-fry until slightly golden, about 2 minutes.
  6. Pour in the prepared sauce and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle with chopped scallions and it's ready to eat!
