Sauce-Braised Tofu
Ingredients
- firm tofu
- oyster sauce
- light soy sauce
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients: firm tofu, minced scallions and garlic, dried chilies, cilantro, starch water, yellow soybean paste, and thirteen-spice powder.
- Prepare the sauce: a little sugar + 2 tbsp light soy sauce + 1 tbsp oyster sauce + half tbsp dark soy sauce + half bowl water. Mix well.
- Heat the wok with a little oil. Sauté scallions and garlic until fragrant. Add 2 tbsp yellow soybean paste and a pinch of thirteen-spice powder. Cook over low heat until fragrant.
- Pour in the sauce and bring to a boil. Add tofu and simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes. Drizzle in starch water, add cilantro, and cook until the sauce thickens. Turn off the heat and plate. In a separate small pan, heat oil and fry dried chilies until fragrant. Pour the hot chili oil over the tofu — the sizzle is amazing! So fragrant, you have to try this!
