A delicious Braised Pork with Green Beans and Glass Noodles recipe.
Prep the ingredients: Slice the pork (set the fatty pieces aside separately to render into lard first). Wash the green beans and snap them into segments by hand. Soak the glass noodles in water until softened. Slice the scallion, ginger, and garlic.
Heat oil in a wok. Once hot, add the pork and slowly stir-fry until golden brown. Add the scallion, ginger, and garlic, and toss until fragrant to remove any gamey smell. Add dark soy sauce and stir to coat the pork evenly with color.
Add the green beans. Season with oyster sauce, MSG, light soy sauce, and salt. Stir-fry everything together evenly.
Pour in enough water to cover the green beans. Add 1–2 bay leaves, 1–2 star anise pods, and a few dried chili peppers. Bring to a boil over high heat, then add the soaked glass noodles. Reduce to low heat and simmer gently for 15 minutes. Transfer to a serving plate and enjoy!
