Stir-fried Tofu with Green Peppers
Ingredients
- 1 firm tofu
- 2 green peppers
- 2 garlic
- 2 ginger
- 1 oyster sauce
- a dash dark soy sauce
- ½ light soy sauce
- a pinch salt
- a pinch white pepper
- 1 cornstarch
- ½ water
- 2 cooking oil
Instructions
- Slice the firm tofu into pieces. Tear the green peppers into pieces by hand. Mince the garlic and slice the ginger.
- In a small bowl, mix the sauce: combine oyster sauce, a dash of dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, a pinch of salt, white pepper, cornstarch, and half a cup of water. Stir well and set aside.
- Heat a wok over high heat and add oil. Pan-fry the tofu slices until both sides are golden brown and crispy. Remove and set aside.
- In the same wok, add garlic, ginger, and scallions. Stir until fragrant. Add the green peppers and stir-fry vigorously. Return the fried tofu to the wok, cook for about one minute, then pour in the prepared sauce. Stir-fry until the sauce thickens and coats everything evenly. Serve immediately.
