Prepare the sauce: in a bowl, combine 1 tbsp minced garlic, 2 tbsp light soy sauce, 1 tbsp oyster sauce, half tsp salt, half tsp sugar, half tbsp starch, and 3 tbsp water. Mix well and set aside.

Prepare ingredients: cut tofu into pieces, have 1 egg and starch ready.

Coat tofu first with a layer of starch.

Then coat with a layer of beaten egg.

Place tofu in a flat pan and pan-fry until both sides are golden.

Pour in the prepared sauce and stir-fry briefly.

Add cilantro and scallion segments. Serve!
